I got the jerk chicken with beef stew and a beef empanadas. With shrimp vegetable rice. You pick container size then rice, two choices of meat and two vegetable sides. Delicious. Empanadas are fresh to order so it can take some time but definitely worth the price and wait. The service was amazing, top three by far. Greeted us as we entered. Proceed to sample most of the meats. Made sure I got good portions of everything. + a little extra Some items are very spicy. For those who have spicy sensitivity ask the staff on non or mild spice. If they get oxtail, I coming every week

Stopped by today on a whim to grab takeout for lunch after hearing so many good things. She was so friendly and welcoming. She also offered samples of everything which I thought was fantastic even if it did make it harder to decide. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. I love that the empanadas are fried to order so they're crispy and fresh. Great food and awesome portions that are reasonably priced. Definitely worth checking out. I'll be back.

We live in the area and have been waiting for this place to officially open! First experience was amazing. The owner is very warm and welcoming, he let us sample everything they had prepared. (There are a lot of options for meats, veggies and rice) Everything was so fresh. You can tell they cook with love and soul. The restaurant has a great layout and is clean and modern. We will absolutely be back! Thank you for a great experience!

I stopped by after many recommendations today. The service was excellent and the food the same! I had the chance to try multiple things and left with the honey jerk and stewed chicken served with the friend plantains and shrimp and veggie rice. Everything was packed with flavor down to the shrimp and rice. So much effort and detail goes into each dish. If you love fried plantains this was easily the best I've ever had. I will be back to try more of their options. Welcome to the neighborhood!

I stopped by the Pawcatuck location today for lunch and was greeted with the delightful smells of stewed beef and jerk chicken. King happened to be there although he is usually at the North Stonington location. Since it was my first time he let me sample almost everything! He took his time and explained what everything was. Each dish more delicious than the last. A wonderful experience, I look forward to dining in next time.

809 Café is a true gem! The Dominican food is unbelievably good—every bite is bursting with authentic flavor. The service makes you feel like family, and the warm, welcoming atmosphere keeps you wanting to stay longer. And the desserts… absolutely to die for! 1st time visiting and I'll definitely be a return customer! The owner was such a kind and welcoming individual, making sure every customer was comfortable and happy. The food is so flavorful and delicious! I especially loved the stewed chicken, beef stew, and the sweet plantains. Don't forget to grab a piece of flan for dessert! So happy to have a place like this around!
